Polarstone Material Handling

If you are a shop that works with Polarstone material you may already know much of the information in this article. And if you are setting up a new shop and plan on working with Polarstone this is information that you will most certainly need to know since it relates to engineered quartz equipment. In this article we will talk about some of the material handling equipment that is needed to work with Polarstone and how it makes your daily work easier.

What is Material Handling?

When people think of material handling for Polarstone, different things might come to mind. Someone might think of unloading a truck that has Polarstone products on it. Someone else might have in mind the thought of lifting Polarstone slabs onto a fixture for work. And still others may see in their mind's eye a storage rack with slabs of Polarstone loaded on it. And in fact, all of these are actually examples of material handling.

Equipment for Storing Polarstone

As we have already mentioned, there are facets to material handling and one of those facets is storage. This is because there are cases where a Polarstone slab needs to be stored for a period of time before it is used. When this is the case, a tall post Polarstone slab rack is sometimes used to server that purpose. Having the material on hand and then being able to use it when needed is very practical.

Polarstone Transport Equipment

In a fabrication shop, slabs get moved from one location to another regularly. If workers were only able to carry Polarstone materials in slab form, think of how much more work it would take. Additionally, safety is factor as well. The more carrying that workers do, the more likely they are to become exhausted and then strength could become a factor. For situations where moving slabs of Polarstone are common, a short double side Polarstone cart or other product might be beneficial to have in the shop.

Equipment for Loading Polarstone

Working in a warehouse, slab yard, or fabrication shop means having to lift or hoist large lsabs of material repeatedly and it is no different when the material is Polarstone. Being able to get a good grip on the Polarstone slab can be the difference between success and failure. And with the right equipment, this is possible. One example of a piece of equipment designed to help workers get ahold of a Polarstone slab is a wide grip jumbo lifting clamp. This machine, like others is designed to hold onto the material so it can be loaded or unloaded during the process of storage, delivery and/or fabrication. Like other products that are engineered quartz, Polarstone products are easier to transport and maneuver if you have the proper equipment to perform the necessary tasks. Choosing the right tools, machines and material handling equipment goes a long way toward that goal.
