ColorQuartz Material Handling

In the world of stone fabrication there are a number of materials that are used for hard surfaces. One of those materials is ColorQuartz. And when you work with ColorQuartz materials, there are some tools and equipment that make your day-to-day work much easier. This page is part of the information about engineered quartz equipment. In this article we will talk a bit about some of the equipment used for handling ColorQuartz materials.

Material Handling: What is Involved?

When people think of material handling for ColorQuartz, different things might come to mind. Someone might think of unloading a truck that has ColorQuartz products on it. Someone else might have in mind the thought of lifting ColorQuartz slabs onto a fixture for work. And still others may see in their mind's eye a storage rack with slabs of ColorQuartz loaded on it. And in fact, all of these are actually examples of material handling.

Equipment for Storing ColorQuartz

Fabrication shops at times have a great deal of material on hand with which to work. Because of this, and because the ColorQuartz slabs might need to be sitting in storage before they are actually used for surfaces, a hippo storage rack for ColorQuartz might be used for keeping the material on hand but out of the way until it is ready for use.

ColorQuartz Transport Equipment

Fabrication shops require a number of pieces of equipment to operate smoothly. One of those is a two side a frame ColorQuartz cart or similar product. Why is that the case? Well, the easiest way to say it is that it makes the work easier and smoother by allowing the ColorQuartz slabs to be moved on a fixture rather than without one. Some of the transport carts can have casters (wheels) added to them so they can be loaded and rolled. Whether you are using a rolling cart in the shop or an a-frame along a wall of the delivery van, these units are practical.

Unloading & Loading ColorQuartz

Loading and uloading ColorQuartz slabs involves lifting them onto racks, machines, or even trucks. Additionally, the slabs can be very heavy to lift to any significant height without the help of a machine; ColorQuartz slabs included. But how can these be hoisted up into a truck or onto a polishing table? Lifting equipment has to be used for this. So, a fabricator may use a scissor clamp for lifting ColorQuartz slabs for the task. This makes the work easier and safer than trying to pick it up by hand. In the end working with ColorQuartz is like working with any natural stone or other engineered quartz surface. It can be awkward and challenging to lift, position, load and unload. But having the proper equipment to handle it makes the work much easier to perform.
